Projects, sources and Trash
Reuse source material, keep projects organized and recover deleted work safely.

A project contains settings, source references, revisions and results. A reusable source can be used by another project without treating an old generated recording as a new source extraction. Give experiments descriptive names and keep a short known-good output when comparing changes.
Reuse and organize
Use the source chooser's Reuse option to select an existing source. Check which source version or artifact you selected, then prepare and review the new project's stages. A folder groups work; it does not choose the current text revision or generation run for you.
Before removing an experiment, check for outputs you still want, references to shared voices/sounds and work that is queued or running. A browser tab closing is not a cancellation request.
Pause, continue and cancel
| Situation | What happens |
|---|---|
| Pause requested | The run can pass through pausing before reaching paused. Resume is available once it is paused. |
| Resume a paused run | Keeps the original requested selection and frozen settings, skipping work already completed. |
| Failed or canceled run | Inspect the failure and preview a new continuation request. Canceling does not create a resumable paused run. |
| Continue unfinished audio | Previews work against the active speech plan and the failed run's settings; completed recordings are preserved. |
| Cancel requested | Wait for acknowledgement. An in-flight provider request may finish or reach its timeout first. |
The app refuses project removal while protected work remains queued, running or awaiting cancellation. Do not work around that by deleting files or database rows.
Trash and permanent removal
Moving a project to Trash is different from purging it. Restore the current trashed revision before continuing its work. A purge permanently removes the project's retained data and has no normal restore action. A failed purge may be retried through its journaled operation; that is not a recovery path for a successful purge.
When deleting old website experiments, select only the explicitly identified sample projects. Shared voices, model installations and unrelated projects have separate lifecycles.
After an interruption
Reopen Activity & logs and inspect the existing work handle, error and completed artifacts. Check whether a run is paused, failed, canceled or still active before submitting a replacement. A healthy app endpoint only proves the service answered; it does not establish that a particular job has completed.
